We are definitely coming. There's a Steely Dan concert the next night in Albuquerque, so it's going to be a crazy couple of days. Haha. Anyways, we need to get the same cut of that movie going. We really want to see that again. But anyways, mark down at least three or four people from our end.

I want to go to the set of Giant if it's nearby. I don't remember, either it was extremely close, or really far away.

This is Doug from Nothern NY State. My wife and I are coming. For anyone keeping a head count. We plan to fly into El Paso Thursday July 17th. All the ideas sound great. I am assuming we rent cars right at the airport. Do you think they have a blue cadillac? Anyways, I am checking out the site daily. If I can help in any way - I'm here.

I have checked the older posts and I can't find a meeting place or time in El Paso on the 17/18th. Any suggestions?

Dorman, another Fandangoiste who just stumbled upon the website and forum. Thanks for hosting!

I'm really thinking of traveling out from Dallas for this "Fandango", either solo or with my wife, but the heat may be too oppressive for too much. If not - assume that I'll do my own epic when we head out for the Ft. Davis CycleFest in September.

BTW, My favorite line (for the moment)? "Does this mean I get my Fondue set back?"! CLASSIC!

Well, nuts.
My wife and I went out to Ft. Davis from Dallas last weekend, and I had not checked in to the website in time to notice that it was down. Guys, I'm really sorry I missed this. I hope everyone fully recovers from the hurricane, however. Given that nothing decays out there in Far W. Texas, I think I can do this trip again in April and use my 705 to reach the destination spots.

FTR, The CycleFest was fantastic, and we stayed at the Harvard Hotel. 1st in the Rally and 2nd in the Hillclimb, and Amy broke 6 hrs. I still believe in the Marfa lights, and I got to stop and order a soda at the Sonic in Alpine. The pool at Balmorhea definitely has LARGE turtles in it. I have no idea how Ft. Davis survives. And you can see that the International Space Station looks like Wheat Chex on a clear night at the McDonald Observatory.

I'll be buying the DVD soon. Given that there were some serious changes in my life in August, I needed this trip, and I needed some spiritual Groovin'. Thanks and keep up the great work. I'll be more serious about getting to the next Fandango Conclave.
